La Paz, Bolivia

¡Hola!
Jessica writing, sorry for any mistakes ;o)

Yesterday, due to my camera that broke down, we didn't stay in Puno for the islands tours on the Lac Titicaca. Instead we headed towards La Paz en Bolivia to get it fixed.

We arrived late yesterday, and we met 4 guys from Chile (from the bus) and we hung out with them. They knew an hostel and a nice bar... Even though we were very tired (getting up with the sun... 7h or so bus ride..) we trusted them for the evening and it turned out good. The bar was quite nice, the music was great, and the drinks just has good has you can wish for. We've been chatting, (in spanish.... ain't easy!) and dancing... and drinking, (not too mutch but quite enough!) All that to say we had a good time. We came back to the hostel, the 6 of us (plus the driver) squeezed in a taxi. It was about 5h30 am and we were exhausted. We actualy didn't manage to sleep a lot and we're still sort of upside down...!

The guys left around noon to get back to Chile. Their "summer break" is over and university starts tomorrow (monday).

As for the camera, we found the shop but we have to get there tomorrow (monday..). We're expecting to wait around 3 days to get it back and we don't quite know what we'll do in La Paz all that time.
This city his cold, humid, and it rains a lot. Similar to a winter in Vancouver.

Has you can see we still have little problems with the pictures... but they'll be on the blog at some point! They're on a CD right now and the computers so far don't have a cd reader... weird hey!? whatever.... at some point we'll manage!

Apart from the technalities... we enjoy the changes here in south america. There's lots of stuff that's very different. Such has food and the way to store it, costomer service, clothing, littering, hungry dogs, crazy taxi drivers, cold showers when hot water was advertised... but also lots of nice stuff such as art, markets in the streets, people still wearing traditionnal clothes... carying a blanket full of stuff on there back or a baby who by the way never seems to cry or complain.

We've been told Bolivia is different from Perou. Can't wait to see!!

take care xx
