Update

aIt's been a while hey!
Once again it's Jess writing, it's getting late, and my brain is on the "spanish mode" ... so be kind ;o)
Ok.... Well last time I wrote I think we were in La Paz without a Camera... We turned out buying another one (same model) to use the batteries and the memory card we've got. Then we left for Sucre, where our aunt works as a missionary with orphuns. The trip was supposed to be 12 hours ... Yeah ... 12 fu€k*** long hours!!!! No kidding, the bus kinda broke down and they didn't care to put us in another bus. Instead they went from village to village, at 10 km per hour hoping to find a mecanic ... We were in the first seat and this is not a lies : at times, the bus was going backwards in hills! At that point we've shut the curtains.. That was too much for us to handle! Another bad thing is that we were at Potosi at dawn (3 hours from Sucre) and we got in Sucre in the afternoon! Anyways... it was a 19hours long trip.... but it's all behind now! ehehe ;o) Might as well get over it!!!
So anyways, we got there sick as hell ... needed to sleep soooo much to recuperate... But our aunt, Camille, and the other Sisters at the orphun have been awesome hosts and took good care of us. The girls there were very nice too and they made cards to welcome us :o) We stayed there for some time and then headed for Potosi, which apparently his the highest town in the world. My ears were hurthing that day during the bus ride and the higher up we were getting the worst it was... For once I was glad drugs exist! The next day we left for Uyuni to get to the salt desert. But then it was Selena feeling slick with the altitude. After a few hours in the bus other passagers gave here coca leaves so chewed on that and it got better. They were so funny... An English and a French guy traveling together, none of them speaking the other one's language, and very little spanish... The English guy would tell me he can't stand that the french guy speaks all the time ... and then the French guy would wonder what he said... so he'd point outside and say "muy bueno" to pretend that's what he just said in English. Very funny anyways... ! So we got to Uyuni, and quickly tried to escape to everybody who wants you to sigh up whith their tour companie or thir hostel... a block further, 4 guys from Europe talked to us, saying they needed to find 2 more people to complete their tour. After chatting and meeting the people of the tour cie, we deceided to sign with them. We met them again at night and since we saved them $40 US each (cause they needed to pay for 6 people even if they were 4) they got us a few drinks. We left early and that was a good idea cause it turned out pretty hard to get up the next morning! (the room was mooving for some reason) And a hang over in a jeep wouldn't have been that much fun... so a drop more of alcool would have been bad idea! eheh!
the tour turned out great and the guys too. We laught soo much it's unreal...
On the tour we saw lakes with crazy colors, mountains with lots of colors, flamingos, volcanos, geisers rocks that seem to come from nowhere.... And obviously the great Solar of Uyuni (the salt desert)
We left quickly towards Sucre after the tour, saying bye to Karel, Bram, Ben and Bram, hoping to see them again in the Amasonian Bassin near La Paz. Getting back to Sucre turned out a bit complicated but we managed and we got there in time to leave right away to a fiesta in Tarabuco with Camille and Francisca. (Our aunt an another very nice Sister from Republica Dominicana) We were very tired but had a good day anyways. We assisted to a mess in Quechua in which I didn't quite manage not to sleep... and then hung out with the "padre" of Tarabuco who was very nice and actualy pretty funny!
We got back in Sucre the same day and stayed their for a while. Camille Said she could bring some stuff back to Quebec for us, so we left everything we don't need for treking behind. After that we hiked a little mountain to test the bags. They're now about 15 kg each before water, a lot better!
Right when we started to think of heading towards La Paz their was people blocking the roads that get in and out of the big cities of Bolivia... Their were thousands of people stucked in the trafic for days... So glad we were happy and cozy in Sucre instead of stucked in a bus somewhere in between!
With all that, our friends (actually 3 of them, Bart kept traveling alone) who stayed in Uyuni and Potosi longer couldn't get to La Paz either, so they came to Sucre. We got an e-mail from them, saying they saw us walking in the street while they were in a cab. I had to read it like 3 times to understand they where in Sucre... We woke them up the next day at 9:30 while they where still a little bit drunk, and we showed them Sucre a little bit. We left yesterday towards La Paz and got here this morning. Then we took different ways. Selena and I are leaving for Choro Treck tomorrow and we can't wait! It's gonna be 3 days and it goes though many kinds of climat and vegetation...
We've put some pictures of the tour and the orphun as well... And as for the orphun, I gave the kids a massage the day before we left. But then the next day I cought some virus so I couldn't give the Sisters one.. The kids gave us cards to say good bye even though they where asking us to stay.. it was a little bit sad alltogeter, plus I was feeling super nauseous... Anyways we left , and Choro's waiting for us!
¡Hasta pronto!
